Before the Unknown
Tempera on board, 60 x 60 cm
Within a protected world, play and inner balance create a sense of shelter. A child becomes a mermaid inside a whale-like refuge, surrounded by familiar objects, small rituals and imaginary companions.
Beyond this enclosed universe, however, another world begins to emerge. Mechanical eyes look outward with curiosity, quietly observing what lies beyond the safety of the familiar. The work captures the delicate moment when protection and curiosity coexist—when the unknown is not yet threatening, but its presence can already be felt as the first pull of the unknown.
