About
Oana Trusca is a Romanian architect, academic and visual artist based in Bucharest, with a professional practice spanning architecture, sustainable design, research and education, alongside an evolving body of work in visual art.
She studied Architecture at Universidad Europea de Madrid, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture in 2008, and later completed a PhD in Architecture at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest.
Her architectural work explores the relationship between design, environmental responsibility and the experience of space. Alongside professional practice, she teaches Architectural Design at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning and conducts research in passive and sustainable architecture through international publications and research projects.
In parallel with architecture, her visual art practice explores a surreal, playful universe shaped by the boundless imagination of childhood—a realm where conventional rules dissolve, anything becomes possible, and fantasy establishes its own logic. Her paintings create situations in which familiar objects, animals and human figures shift into unexpected relationships, suspended between everyday experience and the fantastic.
Across both architecture and visual art, her work is driven by an interest in imagination, observation and the ways in which people construct and inhabit worlds.
